Florence Lafragette: The boldness of taking over a luxury company

Florence Lafragette : l’audace de reprendre une entreprise de luxe

available as a podcast on airzen.fr

"Only 5% of companies bought or taken over in France are by women. With Petrusse, Florence Lafragette boldly succeeds in reconciling her two passions: entrepreneurship and art.

Florence Lafragette acquired the Petrusse company in 2019. Boldly, she perpetuated its artistic and creative roots and adapted the company to the environmental and societal challenges of the 21st century. This commitment was notably reflected in a strong commitment to MADE IN FRANCE and production within the Ateliers du Château Mauriac, near Bordeaux.

The first Petrusse stoles were created in 1997, inspired by the beauty of Indian cashmeres. Today, the soul of the company vibrates more than ever with artistic and cultural, or simply human, emotions. It is shared in women's, men's, and home decor collections.

A rich journey towards creation

Born into a family of Bordeaux winegrowers, Florence Lafragette first took charge of three châteaux (Médoc, Pessac-Léognan, Grave). There, she created an association of women winegrowers to promote wine tourism. The goal: to bring more conviviality to the sector by telling stories through wine. She then held the position of international communication and marketing director for the famous cosmetic brand Helena Rubinstein.

As deputy general manager of the L'Oréal Foundation, she developed social impact programs. She was then caught up by the need to express her creativity and tell stories through her drawings. She rediscovered Maison Petrusse, whose creations she had always loved. Florence became its president and artistic director in 2019.

Stoles that tell stories

Florence Lafragette explains that a stole is first and foremost dreamed up. It is designed as a work of art and intended to last. The Lafragette company collaborates with renowned artists – more than 100 to date. As well as 50 partnerships with museums and cultural institutions. The launch of the Petrusse Art Gallery, a space dedicated to the exhibition and sale of unique pieces and limited-edition collector stoles, marked the year 2023.

While passion and boldness remain at the origin of the creations, ethical and responsible dimensions are at the heart of Florence's concerns. Manufacturing favors short supply chains and high durability."
